From installation to your first upgrade

Before you begin

• Use the latest desktop version of Google Chrome. Chromium-based Microsoft Edge also works.
• Chrome on mobile, Safari, and Firefox cannot install this extension.
• Choose the ZIP package. Stable Chrome normally blocks direct off-store CRX installation.
• The full extension is free. No purchase email, license key, or device activation is required.

Install in Chrome

1. Download the v2.7.0 ZIP above, then extract it completely. Keep the extracted folder in a permanent location; do not open files inside the ZIP or delete the folder after installation.
2. Enter chrome://extensions in the Chrome address bar and press Enter.
3. Turn on Developer mode in the upper-right corner. This is Chrome’s standard switch for loading an extension outside the Web Store.
4. Choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder. The correct folder directly contains manifest.json, content.js, and the icons folder.
5. Confirm that Steam Card Assistant appears and is enabled, then refresh any Steam pages that were already open.

Install in Edge

1. Download and fully extract the ZIP, then keep the folder in a permanent location.
2. Enter edge://extensions in the address bar and enable Developer mode.
3. Choose Load unpacked and select the folder that contains manifest.json.
4. Confirm the extension is enabled, then refresh your Steam badges page.

First use

1. Sign in to Steam in the same browser and open Profile → Badges, or go directly to your own Steam badges page.
2. Open Steam Card Assistant at the lower right. It runs only on supported Steam badge, game-card, and official multi-buy pages; you do not need to launch it from the browser toolbar.
3. Choose your language and scan low-cost sets. The assistant reads your level, XP, existing badge level, and the number of crafts still available for each set.
4. Choose repeat crafts for individual sets, or enter a target Steam level to build a lower estimated-cost plan.
5. Review estimated XP, card quantities, and your budget, then open Steam’s official multi-buy page. Wait for live prices before confirming the total.
6. If price or stock changes leave cards missing, keep the retry task running. The assistant rechecks every card and creates new orders only for the remainder.
7. Start batch crafting only after the full sets have arrived. Test the complete workflow with one inexpensive set first.

Update to a new version

1. Download and fully extract the new ZIP.
2. Stop active purchase or crafting tasks, then replace the contents of your existing extension folder with the new files.
3. Return to chrome://extensions or edge://extensions and select Reload on the Steam Card Assistant card.
4. Refresh Steam and confirm the version shown by the assistant. Do not move or delete the extension folder.

Troubleshooting

• “Manifest is missing” or “Could not load manifest”: select the inner folder that directly contains manifest.json.
• No assistant at the lower right: make sure the extension is enabled, refresh the page, and confirm you are on a supported badges or game-card page.
• Developer-mode warning: this is normal for a manually loaded ZIP. Download updates only from steamcard.app.
• The extension stops working after restart: check whether the extracted folder was moved, renamed, or deleted.
• An order did not buy every card: do not craft an incomplete set; let continuous retry check all cards and create another remainder order.
• Insufficient balance or market restriction: add Steam Wallet funds and resolve any cooldown, trading restriction, or confirmation shown by Steam.

Safety

The extension never needs your Steam password, Steam Guard code, cookies, session ID, or API key. Anyone asking for them is not following the legitimate installation process.

Card prices change in real time. Automation remains limited by your budget, Steam Wallet balance, and Steam’s official security steps. Review the final amount before submitting.
